Dyadic Assessment on Motivation with “Reg” (Ma. Regina Malabatan)

dyadicTwo heads are better than one, even in learning there are many things that can be achieve when we discuss with fellow learners. Collaboration such as this keep the process of learning running and make us extend our evaluation on our own understanding as well as the understanding of another person.

Ms. Ma. Regina Malabatan or Reg is my partner on developing a Dyadic Assessment on Motivation. We have many things in common, but still we are different in a lot of things. In the orientation I personally met her and in other course I have team up with her already.  Which is why, discussing with her about this assessment does not create that much adjustment.

In discussing  the finding of the research entitled: “Examining Motivation in Online  Distance Learning Environments:  Complex, Multifaceted, and Situation – Dependent” (Hartnett et. al., 2011) we learned and realized that motivation is indeed multifaceted.

We enjoy learning (intrinsic motivation), but that doesn’t mean that outside factors or extrinsic motivations will not affect us. In the course of our exchanging opinions about the research we came to the point that though we enjoy it, we should also recognize other motivations that can fire up our desire to learn. By combining different reasons of our enthusiasm to learn, we can have the consistency which we all need to develop our learning capabilities and excel in the field of our study.

Through our discussion, I became aware that not only me juggles everything  to keep up in our work, in our study, in our role in the family and other things. We may have the same difficulties, but it will always end up to our own decision and action to keep it balance and to prioritize it responsibly by making use of our motivations.  🙂
